PRT Campaign 13
Prep Battle 2 - RPX Victory

The paddy fields and jungles of Xiangshan have now been confirmed as the latest hotbed of PMC activity. With the competition for Asian contracts rising, the Vanguard Operations Group decided to launch an attack against occupied Riamh Pax territory in an attempt to prove their supremacy to the global markets. Although they saw some initial success, VOG struggled to hold any ground they gained and after some hours decided to withdraw from the area, not without inflicting significant damage to RPX, who could only truly claim a Pyrrhic victory.

It's not a pyrrhic victory if we have tons of forces ready to fight!

First. Thanks to the Tournament Staff for what so far seem to be a very well organized campaign. I had some doubts after Dovre but now all my doubts are gone. Because this, the second preparation battle on Xiangshan, clearly depicted two very skillful tactical teams. In fact, tactical speaking, its like both teams, somehow jumped several learning curves between Dovre and Xiangshan. The latter with a much higher level of determination, initiative, reaction time, organisation, concentration and discipline. Only after a few fast forwards on the Xiangshan replay page, I finally spotted the same operational pattern as on Dovre. Phew. Then again, while forwarding, I thought, no way they can be this good from start, which proofed to be correct. Capable of breathing out again.

Second. Xiangshan.

Okay, with the result from Dovre in mind, and therefore the attached expectations to the RPX, I agree that RPX claimed a pyrrhic here. Then again, technical speaking, a result this close, could just as well have been a pyrrhic victory for the VOG team.

Ticket wise the RPX is victorious, again. Congratulations to an already well playing team. Battle wise, I would respectfully, call this a vibrating stalemate with a faded favor to VOG. This because VOG entered the battle with a significant defeat on its hands, thus lowering the expectations to investors of all sorts. But more importantly, VOG set the place for the main battle, forcing the RPX to engage in one of the most intensive break-in battles, in a long time. Now, RPX certainly repelled the attempt from VOG, however, RPX never managed to force the VOG into the same type of fight. Hence VOG won the offensive battle, but both teams stalled on the defensive battle, no clear RPX lead here. Finally, the RPX never broke the bag on VOG as it did on Dovre. Here on Xiangshan, RPX had to fight for every yard. And so VOG could leave the battlefield head high, With an indisputable respect for its efforts and skills. The ferocity, the timing, the coordination and teamwork of the intense VOG offensive, must have raised a few eyebrows on the RPX side. Because, this was not the VOG we saw on Dovre. No sir. This was something else, something a bit scary to be honest. Just fierce determination combined with a super jump in presented VOG skills.

1. Are Vanguard Operations Group gonna make another super jump before the first real battle? Perhaps a jump to the Operational level? If so, I predict a reversed Dovre, where simplicity clearly conquer complexity.

2. Will Riamh Pax decide to take the first initiative? Raising the still positive, but also now lowered expextations to its effectiveness?

No-go zone for Yamalia seems outdated. Silent Eagle and some others, too.

Hmm, looks like pretty solid Campaign.

Need some gameplay posted for those who sit on the bench. Alex - you still make videos?

Gameplay videos do exist, but as in past campaigns, they are usually unlisted or pw-protected to be only accessible team-internal until the campaign is over and only then released to the public. As they usually also contain voice comms, they might give away too much information to the enemy team.
