Hello PRT Community!

Ladies and Gentlemen, after a 6-month-break since the Final Battle (http://tournament.realitymod.com/showthread.php?t=35541) of C11, the Project Reality Tournament has now officially started again with Campaign 12. We're currently playing the Prep Battles, where the teams can iron out the kinks and get to know each other. The first Preparation Battle has been played and we would like to congratulate EMC for their win in the thrilling round on Operation Marlin. It was a close one and we hope everyone had fun!

During C11 we shared the PRISM recordings of the PRT Battles so that everyone could watch how much teamwork-oriented and fun they can be. Since then, [T-CON]Alon and [PR]EMC|Yosik have been working hard on a plugin that records all the data that PRISM gets from the game, in order to display it in a recording. Initially this was done with a video being the end result, just like our old PRISM recordings, but it has now evolved into something greater.

Following the example of an old web-based platform, created back in Campaign 4 (http://www.gloryhoundz.com/prmt/prmt_c4b3/) that allowed players to review the battle and interact with the recording, our very new Reality Tracker works in a very similar way, yet extremely improved. You can now watch the recording of the PRT C12 Prep Battle 1 by clicking HERE (http://tournament.realitymod.com/prt_mods/PRDemoViewer/?demo=demos%2Fc12_prep_1_marlin.PRdemo).

Please note that the DST (daylight saving time) in Europe changed last Sunday. The Project Reality-Time(PRT) clock (used for battles and other team events) does not use DST. It's important that you take this change into account. Battles always start at 19:00 PRT even though we will setup the countdown for 18h00 as every player should be on TS by that time. Find out more about the PR-Time here (http://tournament.realitymod.com/showthread.php?t=31836).

Is it me or can you actually see who kills who? That is what that purple line is for or what? If so, even more cool than already.

Thank you so much to the creators.

Edit:

Yep, it's a kill shot line that shows a line from whoever fired the shot to whoever was killed by it.

Copy. Fantastic stuff.

Alon and Yosik, this also improves the tournament quite a bit. Thank you again.

Its actually not "shot" related, its just whenever the engine decided that X killed Y. If Y bleeds out it will show the kill line much after the "shot".

You can hover over kills on the killfeed menu and it will show the line. You can also click them now and it'll go to that time (Actually, don't think I pushed that feature yet, next stable version.)

Yes its not there yet and I was about to suggest that Alon.

Try it here https://storage.googleapis.com/prdemoviewer/PRDemoViewer/index.html?demo=https://server.l0lwut.com/pr/prt/c12/c12_prep_1.PRdemo

Feels kind of clunky with the killfeed deleting the "future" rows on click, I'll probably make all "future" rows slightly transparent instead of deleting them (with a checkbox option to make them hidden), then the row will stay at the same place, and also make the map camera move to the relevant spot.

Much better now I think

You can see that in the replay in terms of K/D and for everyone in the team instead of only the top 20.

It's a beautiful thing!

One feature that would be really useful would be some sort of flash (or an outward radiating ripple from the player outward?), when you click on someone's name, so as to find them faster/easier.

Thanks for the great work on this thing guys.

Edit: One more thing... how about if the cap radius stays Orange for uncapped flags, but for capped flags, either the cap radius is a transparent flag zoom of the controlling team, or just a blueish colour where BluFor controls, and a Redish colour where OpFor is in control?

Is tried looking at a file of my own, it said "error loading map image". Is looking at your own files not a feature yet or is my file bonkered? Or a bug?

Are you loading a Battlerecorder demo? It doesn't view BR files.
ctrl-shift-i post console message.

Yeah. I remember some preview of this I could load my own BR file. Or maybe my memory is tricking me.

We never could parse BR files. They rely too much on the parser having lots of map data and game code, and they lack a lot of PR-related information.
They're also just too complicated to parse.

Is theoretically possible to view last campaigns battles with this, or are you now recording extra data that is not available for the older battles?

No, the tracker is recording during the battle. It is not based on the bf2 demo.

Does the tracker generate/create a large file? Any much larger than the BF2 demo files?

For the C12 prep battles the tracker file is roughly 9MB, vs 150MB for the demo.

11/5/2016 9:02 PM 154922795 c12_prep_1.bf2demo
11/5/2016 9:02 PM 9442683 c12_prep_1.PRdemo
11/19/2016 9:05 PM 153648080 c12_prep_2.bf2demo
11/19/2016 9:05 PM 9728193 c12_prep_2.PRdemo

like 3% of bf2demo files and its not even gzipped in this version, gzip usually makes it even 60% smaller. Vanilla's bf2demo is a gzip stream.

Highest quality BR demo looks something like 4-8 FPS.
We set the tracker to 2 FPS, smoothed with the magic of interpolation. Will probably default to 3 or 4 after we get the new python and a chance to optimize.
